Designing for Software Zero came together naturally because it was built on real friendship and a shared love for trance music. Toto, the artist behind the project, is not only incredibly talented, but also a close friend, so the ideas flowed easily. For his upcoming releases and album covers, I wanted the visuals to reflect him as a person, not just the music. Based on a photo, I sketched out the outline of his profile, and from that simple drawing the whole visual direction started to form. It felt honest and personal, like the artwork grew from the same place the music does.
